Yesterday I stumbled upon news on vegetarian musician Xavier Rudd from Australia. Some of his music together with those of other great talents come as Soundtrack of Andrew Kidman’s wonderful surf film „Spirit of Akasha“.
Xavier Rudd’s genuine and extremly versatile music has already seduced many people worldwide while attending one of his fabulous shows. Beside that Xavier is an excellent surfer himself. What wonder, he grew up a stones throw to one of the finest surf spots on this globe: Bells Beach.
Australian artist Andrew Kidman has directed „Spirit of Akasha“ which for sure might become one of the finest surf films ever. Many famous surfers, musicians, photographers, cinematographers have been part of this project which is a homage to the OCEAN. It seems that absolutly all participants in the making of the film are in a long and very close relationship to surfing and as such have built an especially deep connection to the element of water.
Surfers you come across in the film, among many others: Mick Fanning, Stephanie Gilmore, Tom Curren, Kelly Slater and Beau Young, Heath Joske, Harrison Roach, Ellis Ericson and Ace Buchan and Jon Jon Florence, Fergal Smith, Joel & Kye Fitzgerald among many more.
Surfspots: Australia, Hawaii, Bali, Fiji, Tahiti, Mexico and Ireland
Soundtrack music from: Brian Wilson, Atoms for Peace, Andrew VanWyngarden, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Xavier Rudd, Angus Stone, Matt Corby, Dirty Three and many more.
