Actually the answer is quite easy: vegan pro-athletes need a very high amount of carbo-hydrates, fruits, vegetables, water. All this as fresh as possible as a daily high quality diet basis. Another highly relevant aspect is to provide all this at the right time. That is what all sucessful vegan athletes like Scott Jurek and Brandon Brazier have inter-nalised. I have collected some high calibre articles for you. Want to know more?

Beforehand: what all those articles come to conclude is that the most important meals are the pre-practising or pre-raceing ones which puts the breakfast in our focus. There we are. And to assure you: we are not talking hot air so have a look on those „10 plant fueled“ top athletes.

Here is a fine article by Jennifer Ward Barber for which she consulted six of triathlon’s top nutritionists: 6 Nutrition Rules for Endurance Athletes
keywords: general health, fruits, vegetables, lean protein, complex carbohydrates, consistently improving, recover quickly, practice-meal-timing, fat stores, macronutrients, balance on fluids and electrolytes, eating should be pleasure.

On macronutrients you find a very interesting scientific article recently published by Dr. Katharina Wirnitzer: „Energy and macronutrient intake of a female vegan cyclist during an 8-day mountain bike stage race“ on Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings

Another exceptional article by top endurance athlete Rich Roll: „How To Be Extremely Active And Eat A Plant-Based Diet Without Destroying Your Body“
